Indication
Anlitin is an emergency contraceptive containing levonorgestrel. It is indicated for the prevention of pregnancy after unprotected sexual intercourse or failure of another contraceptive method. It must be taken as soon as possible, preferably within 72 hours of the unprotected intercourse; efficacy decreases with time. It is not intended for regular contraception.
Ingredients
- Levonorgestrel 1.5 mg
Direction
Adults and adolescents: take one tablet (1.5 mg) orally as a single dose, as soon as possible after unprotected intercourse and preferably within 72 hours. If vomiting occurs within 3 hours of intake, take another tablet immediately. Dosage as prescribed by the physician. See the enclosed package insert for full instructions.
Side effects

- Vomiting
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Fatigue
- Lower abdominal pain
- Breast tenderness
- Menstrual irregularities (earlier
- later or heavier bleeding
- intermenstrual spotting)
- Delayed menstruation
Precautions
- Contraindicated in known or suspected pregnancy
- Contraindicated in hypersensitivity to levonorgestrel or any excipient
- Not recommended in severe hepatic dysfunction
- Use with caution in patients with a history of ectopic pregnancy
- salpingitis or severe malabsorption syndromes (e.g. Crohn's disease)
- Does not protect against sexually transmitted infections
- Efficacy is reduced in women with a body weight above approximately 75 kg
- If menstruation is more than 5 days late
- exclude pregnancy

- keep out of reach of children
