Aspirine EPHAC 500 mg

Indication

Aspirine EPHAC 500 mg gastro-resistant tablets are indicated for the symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain and/or feverish states, and for rheumatic conditions in adults.

Ingredients

• Acetylsalicylic acid 500 mg

Direction

Oral use. Swallow tablets whole with a large glass of water. Adults: 1-2 tablets, may be repeated after 4 hours if necessary, not exceeding 6 tablets per day. Elderly: 1 tablet, may be repeated after 4 hours if necessary, not exceeding 4 tablets per day. Rheumatic conditions: 2 tablets every 6 hours. Do not administer to children without medical advice.

Side effects

• Gastrointestinal upset including nausea
• vomiting
• abdominal pain
• Gastrointestinal bleeding or ulceration (risk increases with dose and duration)
• Prolonged bleeding time and increased risk of bruising
• Tinnitus and hearing disturbances at high doses
• Hypersensitivity reactions including bronchospasm
• urticaria
• angioedema
• Rarely
• hepatic or renal impairment

Precautions

• Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to salicylates or other NSAIDs
• Contraindicated in active peptic ulcer
• haemorrhagic disorders
• and severe hepatic or renal failure
• Contraindicated in children under 16 years with viral illness (risk of Reye's syndrome)
• Avoid in the third trimester of pregnancy
• use with caution in first and second trimesters and during breastfeeding
• Use with caution in patients with asthma
• uncontrolled hypertension
• gout
• or on anticoagulants
• Avoid alcohol during treatment
• Consult a doctor if symptoms persist for more than a few days
