Indication
Bromhexil 8 is a mucolytic/mucoregulator indicated in adults for the symptomatic treatment of bronchial secretion disorders, in particular during acute bronchitis and acute episodes of chronic bronchopneumopathies, where reduction of viscous mucus and facilitation of expectoration are required.
Ingredients
- Bromhexine hydrochloride 8 mg
Direction
Oral route, reserved for adults. Usual dose: 1 to 2 tablets, three times a day, swallowed with a glass of water. Treatment duration should not exceed 8 to 10 days without medical advice. If symptoms persist or worsen, consult a physician.
Side effects
- Mild gastrointestinal disturbances (nausea
- upper abdominal discomfort
- diarrhoea)
- Headache
- dizziness
- Skin rash
- urticaria
- Rarely
- bronchospasm
- Rare but serious hypersensitivity and severe skin reactions (Stevens
- Johnson syndrome
- toxic epidermal necrolysis) have been reported
Precautions
- Reserved for adults
- do not give to children with this presentation without medical advice
- Use with caution in patients with history of gastric or duodenal ulcer
- Caution in severe hepatic or renal impairment
- Not recommended in pregnancy and breastfeeding unless clearly needed
- Discontinue immediately and seek medical advice if skin rash or mucosal lesions develop
- Do not use as an antitussive
- avoid combination with cough suppressants which may impair clearance of liquefied secretions
- Do not exceed treatment duration of 8
- 10 days without medical review
- Store below 30°C
- protected from light and moisture
- Keep out of reach of children
