Indication

Symptomatic relief of common cold and flu: fever, headache, nasal congestion, runny nose and allergic rhinitis.

Ingredients

• Paracetamol
• Phenylephrine HCl
• Chlorpheniramine maleate

Direction

Use as directed by physician.

Side effects

• Drowsiness or sedation (due to chlorpheniramine).
• Dry mouth
• throat
• or nose.
• Nausea or gastrointestinal discomfort.
• Headache.
• Insomnia (due to phenylephrine).
• Increased blood pressure (due to phenylephrine).
• Urinary retention (rare
• due to chlorpheniramine).
• Allergic reactions (rare).

Precautions

• Do not exceed the recommended dose
• paracetamol overdose can cause severe hepatic injury.
• Avoid use with other paracetamol
• containing products.
• Contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic impairment.
• Use with caution in patients with hypertension
• cardiovascular disease
• or hyperthyroidism (due to phenylephrine).
• Phenylephrine may interact with MAOIs — do not use within 14 days of MAOI therapy.
• Chlorpheniramine may cause drowsiness
• avoid driving or operating machinery.
• Alcohol increases sedation risk.
• Use with caution in patients with glaucoma
• prostate hypertrophy
• or urinary retention (due to chlorpheniramine).
• Not recommended in patients with severe renal impairment.
