Indication
Paracetamol oral solution is used for the relief of mild to moderate pain and to reduce fever in infants and children.
Ingredients
- Paracetamol
Direction
Children: 10–15 mg/kg every 4–6 hours as needed; do not exceed 5 doses in 24 hours. Typical dose by age: infants 3–12 months 60–120 mg per dose; children 1–5 years 120–250 mg per dose; children 6–12 years 250–500 mg per dose. Always use the provided measuring device.
Side effects
- Rare: allergic reactions (rash
- urticaria
- angioedema).
- Very rare: serious skin reactions (Stevens
- Johnson syndrome
- toxic epidermal necrolysis).
- Liver toxicity with overdose.
- Blood dyscrasias (thrombocytopenia
- agranulocytosis) — very rare.
Precautions
- Do not exceed the recommended dose
- paracetamol overdose causes severe liver damage.
- Do not use in combination with other paracetamol
- containing products.
- Use with caution in children with liver disease or malnutrition.
- Consult a doctor if fever persists more than 3 days or pain more than 5 days.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Seek immediate medical attention in case of overdose.
