Woods' Peppermint Antitussive 100 mL

Indication

Relief of non-productive cough due to allergy

Ingredients

• Dextromethorphan HBr 7.5 mg/5 mL
• Diphenhydramine HCl 12.5 mg/5 mL

Direction

Adults and children over 12 years: 2 teaspoonfuls (10 mL) 3 times a day. Children 6-12 years: 1 teaspoonful (5 mL) 3 times a day. Shake well before use.

Side effects

• Drowsiness
• sedation (common — due to diphenhydramine)
• Dizziness
• impaired coordination
• Dry mouth
• blurred vision
• urinary retention (anticholinergic effects of diphenhydramine)
• Nausea
• gastrointestinal upset
• Dextromethorphan: rarely nausea
• dizziness
• or serotonin syndrome (at very high doses or with MAOIs)

Precautions

• Store below 30 C
• protect from direct sunlight
• keep container tightly closed
• keep out of reach of children
• may cause drowsiness
• not recommended for productive cough
• not recommended for children under 6 years except by physician advice
