Ventolin Inhaler 100 mcg/actuation

Indication

Bronchodilator for the relief and prevention of bronchospasm in patients with reversible obstructive airway disease such as bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Ingredients

• Salbutamol (as sulfate) 100 mcg per actuation

Direction

Use as directed by a physician. Usual adult dose: 1-2 inhalations for relief of acute symptoms; for prevention, 2 inhalations 4 times daily. Shake well before use.

Side effects

• Fine tremor (especially of the hands)
• Headache
• Tachycardia and palpitations
• Muscle cramps
• Throat and mouth irritation

Precautions

• Prescription required
• Use with caution in hyperthyroidism
• severe cardiovascular disease
• diabetes mellitus
• and hypokalaemia
• Pressurised canister: do not puncture
• burn or incinerate even when apparently empty
• Do not expose to temperatures above 50 degrees Celsius
• Do not use in pregnancy unless prescribed
