Genoptic 0.3%

Indication

Topical treatment of bacterial infections of the eye.

Ingredients

• Gentamicin sulfate 0.3%

Direction

Instill 1-2 drops into the affected eye 3-4 times a day, or as directed by a physician.

Side effects

• Local irritation
• burning
• or stinging on instillation.
• Transient blurred vision.
• Conjunctival hyperemia.
• Allergic reactions (rare).
• Risk of superinfection with prolonged use.

Precautions

• Do not use if hypersensitive to gentamicin or other aminoglycosides.
• Prolonged use may lead to superinfection with non
• susceptible organisms
• including fungi.
• Not recommended for use with contact lenses during treatment.
• Discontinue if hypersensitivity or irritation develops.
• Use with caution in patients with known renal or hearing impairment.
• Keep out of reach of children.
