Indication

Treatment of heartburn and acid reflux (GERD); peptic ulcer disease

Ingredients

• Esomeprazole sodium powder eq. to Esomeprazole 40 mg

Direction

IV injection or infusion as directed by physician. Reconstitute with 5ml 0.9% W/V Sodium Chloride Injection provided with pack

Side effects

• Headache.
• Diarrhoea
• nausea
• abdominal pain
• flatulence.
• Dizziness.
• Dry mouth.
• Elevated liver enzymes (rare).
• Hypomagnesaemia and hypokalaemia with prolonged use.
• Increased risk of Clostridioides difficile
• associated diarrhoea with long
• term use.
• Rare: hypersensitivity reactions including anaphylaxis.
• Thrombophlebitis at infusion site (IV administration).

Precautions

• Avoid exposure to heat humidity and light
• Reconstituted solution should be administered within 12 hours after preparation
• To be sold on prescription of RMP only
• Keep out of reach of children
