Indication
- Prevention of heart attack and stroke (antiplatelet) - Secondary prevention in cardiovascular disease - Reducing risk of blood clots
Ingredients
- Aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid) 81 mg
Direction
Usually one 81 mg tablet once daily, taken with water, as directed by a physician. Swallow whole.
Side effects
- Stomach irritation and dyspepsia
- Increased risk of bleeding and bruising
- Nausea
- Gastric ulceration with prolonged use
- Allergic reactions in sensitive individuals
Precautions
- Avoid in active peptic ulcer or bleeding disorders
- Not recommended for children due to Reye's syndrome risk
- Use with caution in asthma and aspirin sensitivity
- Stop before surgery as advised by a physician
