AMLO P.P.M 10 mg

Indication

Used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) and angina pectoris (chest pain). Relaxes blood vessels, reducing the workload of the heart and lowering blood pressure.

Ingredients

• Amlodipine

Direction

Adults: 10 mg once daily. Starting dose may be 5 mg once daily, increased to 10 mg as needed. Take with or without food at the same time each day.

Side effects

• Very common: peripheral oedema (ankle/foot swelling).
• Common: headache
• flushing
• dizziness
• fatigue
• palpitations.
• Uncommon: hypotension
• dyspnoea.
• Rare: gingival hyperplasia
• gynaecomastia.
• Very rare: severe skin reactions
• hepatitis.

Precautions

• Do not use if allergic to amlodipine or other dihydropyridine calcium channel blockers.
• Caution in patients with severe hepatic impairment.
• May cause hypotension — caution with other antihypertensive drugs.
• Worsening angina or acute MI may occur rarely on initiation.
• Do not crush or chew if modified
• release formulation.
• Keep out of reach of children.
