AMLO P.P.M 5 mg

Indication

Used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) and angina pectoris (chest pain). Relaxes blood vessels by blocking calcium channels, reducing peripheral vascular resistance and blood pressure.

Ingredients

• Amlodipine

Direction

Adults: Starting dose 5 mg once daily, with or without food. May be adjusted according to response.

Side effects

• Very common: peripheral oedema.
• Common: headache
• flushing
• dizziness
• fatigue
• palpitations.
• Uncommon: hypotension
• dyspnoea.
• Rare: gingival hyperplasia
• gynaecomastia.
• Very rare: severe skin reactions
• hepatitis.

Precautions

• Do not use if allergic to amlodipine or other dihydropyridine calcium channel blockers.
• Caution with severe hepatic impairment.
• May cause peripheral oedema and hypotension.
• Inform doctor of all other medications
• especially CYP3A4 inhibitors.
• Keep out of reach of children.
