Amlocor-5 5 mg

Indication

Used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) and stable angina pectoris. A dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker that relaxes blood vessels, lowering blood pressure.

Ingredients

• Amlodipine Besilate

Direction

Adults: 5 mg once daily with or without food. May be increased to 10 mg once daily after 7–14 days if needed.

Side effects

• Very common: peripheral oedema.
• Common: headache
• flushing
• dizziness
• fatigue
• palpitations.
• Uncommon: hypotension.
• Rare: gingival hyperplasia.
• Very rare: severe skin reactions
• hepatitis.

Precautions

• Contraindicated if allergic to amlodipine or other dihydropyridines.
• Caution in severe hepatic impairment.
• Additive hypotensive effect with other antihypertensives.
• Inform doctor of all medications
• especially CYP3A4 inhibitors.
• Keep out of reach of children.
