Indication

Used for symptomatic treatment of diarrhoea (acute and chronic) and irritable bowel syndrome. Beidellitic montmorillonite is a natural clay that acts as an adsorbent and mucosal protector, binding pathogens, toxins, and irritants in the gastrointestinal tract.

Ingredients

• Beidellitic Montmorillonite

Direction

Adults: One sachet (3 g) 3 times daily. Children under 1 year: One sachet daily (mixed in bottle feed or food). Children 1–2 years: 1–2 sachets daily. Children over 2 years: 2–3 sachets daily. Mix each sachet in 50 mL of water, stir, and drink immediately. Take between meals.

Side effects

• Common: mild constipation
• especially with high doses.
• Rare: allergic reactions.

Precautions

• May reduce or delay absorption of other oral medications — take other medicines at least 2 hours apart.
• Contains sucrose — caution in patients with diabetes or sucrose intolerance.
• Contains fructose — contraindicated in hereditary fructose intolerance.
• Constipation may occur — reduce dose if needed.
• Keep out of reach of children.
