Indication

Used for the relief of symptoms associated with excess gas (flatulence, bloating, belching, and abdominal discomfort) in the gastrointestinal tract. Simethicone is an antifoaming agent that reduces surface tension of gas bubbles, allowing them to coalesce and be expelled.

Direction

Adults and children over 12 years: 80–125 mg (1–2 tablets/capsules) after meals and at bedtime, as needed. Chew or swallow with water.

Side effects

• Generally very well tolerated.
• Rare: allergic reactions.
• No significant systemic absorption.
