Avarin 300 mg / 60 mg

Indication

Avarin (Simethicone 300 mg + Alverine Citrate 60 mg) is used to relieve symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and other functional gastrointestinal disorders including abdominal cramps, bloating, flatulence, and intestinal spasm. Alverine citrate is an antispasmodic; simethicone is an antiflatulent.

Direction

Adults: 1 capsule 1–3 times daily before meals, or as directed by a physician. Do not exceed the stated dose.

Side effects

• Nausea
• headache — uncommon.
• Dizziness
• pruritus (itching) — rare.
• Allergic reactions including rash — rare.
• Hepatotoxicity (alverine citrate — very rare).

Precautions

• Do not use if allergic to alverine citrate
• simethicone
• or peanut/soya (product may contain soya lecithin).
• Do not use in patients with paralytic ileus or intestinal obstruction.
• Use with caution in pregnancy and breastfeeding.
• Consult a doctor if symptoms persist or worsen.
• Keep out of reach of children.
