Indication

Counterpain Plus cream combines a topical NSAID (piroxicam) with counter-irritants for the relief of acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, strains, sprains, tendinitis, and backache.

Ingredients

• piroxicam
• methyl salicylate
• levomenthol
• eugenol

Direction

Adults: Apply a thin layer to the affected area 2–3 times daily. Rub in gently. Wash hands after application. Do not use on more than 10% of body surface area. Not for use under occlusive dressings.

Side effects

• Skin irritation
• burning sensation
• or redness at application site.
• Contact dermatitis (rare).
• Photosensitivity reactions (with piroxicam).
• Rare systemic NSAID effects with extensive application.

Precautions

• For external use only.
• Avoid contact with eyes
• mucous membranes
• and broken skin.
• Not recommended in patients with NSAID or aspirin hypersensitivity.
• Use with caution in patients with asthma (NSAID
• sensitive).
• Avoid prolonged use over large areas — systemic absorption of piroxicam is possible.
• Not recommended in pregnancy (especially third trimester) or breastfeeding.
• Not for use in children under 16 without medical advice.
• Keep out of reach of children.
