Indication

EfferalganMed Pediatrique (paracetamol 30 mg/mL oral solution) is an analgesic and antipyretic used in infants and young children for the symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain and fever.

Direction

Dose by body weight: 15 mg/kg every 4–6 hours as needed. Maximum 4 doses in 24 hours. Typical volumes: 3 kg: 1.5 mL; 5 kg: 2.5 mL; 10 kg: 5 mL; 15 kg: 7.5 mL. Do not exceed 60 mg/kg/day.

Side effects

• Rare at therapeutic doses.
• Skin reactions (rash) — uncommon.
• Liver toxicity with overdose.

Precautions

• Do not use with other paracetamol
• containing products — risk of hepatic overdose.
• Avoid in severe hepatic impairment.
• Use calibrated syringe or dropper — do not use a household spoon.
• Do not exceed the recommended dose.
• Keep out of reach of children.
