Coversyl Plus 5 mg / 1.25 mg

Indication

Coversyl Plus (perindopril arginine 5 mg / indapamide 1.25 mg) is a fixed-dose combination antihypertensive — ACE inhibitor plus thiazide-like diuretic — used for the treatment of essential hypertension in adults not adequately controlled by either component alone.

Ingredients

• perindopril arginine
• indapamide

Direction

Adults: 1 tablet once daily in the morning before a meal. Not for use in severe renal impairment (CrCl < 30 mL/min). Do not exceed 1 tablet per day.

Side effects

• Dry persistent cough (ACE inhibitor class effect).
• Headache
• dizziness.
• Hypotension.
• Hypokalaemia (diuretic effect).
• Rare: angioedema (discontinue immediately).
• Rash and photosensitivity (sulphonamide
• related).

Precautions

• Contraindicated in history of ACE inhibitor
• induced angioedema.
• Contraindicated during second and third trimester of pregnancy.
• Monitor renal function and serum electrolytes (potassium
• sodium).
• Indapamide may cause hypokalaemia — monitor potassium.
• Risk of first
• dose hypotension in volume
• depleted patients.
• Contraindicated in severe renal impairment or hepatic encephalopathy.
• Keep out of reach of children.
