CTZ 10 mg

Indication

Used for the relief of nasal and ocular symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, and for the treatment of urticaria (hives).

Ingredients

• cetirizine dihydrochloride

Direction

Adults and children 12 years and over: 10 mg once daily. Children 6–11 years: 5 mg twice daily or 10 mg once daily. Children 2–5 years: 2.5 mg twice daily (liquid formulation preferred). May be taken with or without food.

Side effects

• Common: somnolence
• fatigue
• dizziness
• dry mouth.
• Common: headache.
• Uncommon: agitation (in children).
• Rare: hypersensitivity reactions
• urinary retention.

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment (dose reduction may be required).
• May cause drowsiness
• avoid driving or operating machinery until effects are known.
• Avoid alcohol during treatment.
• Use with caution in epilepsy.
• Keep out of reach of children.
