GENTA-ZPC 0.4%

Indication

Used as an ophthalmic solution for the treatment of external ocular infections caused by susceptible bacteria, including conjunctivitis, blepharitis, and corneal ulcers.

Ingredients

• Gentamicin

Direction

Adults and children: Instill 1–2 drops into the affected eye(s) every 4 hours. In severe infections, dosing may be increased to every 1–2 hours initially. Wash hands before use. Tilt head back, pull down lower lid, and instil drops into the conjunctival sac.

Side effects

• Local: burning
• stinging
• or irritation on instillation.
• Rare: allergic reactions
• punctate keratopathy.
• Prolonged use: risk of secondary infection.

Precautions

• For ophthalmic use only.
• Avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface to prevent contamination.
• Prolonged use may result in overgrowth of non
• susceptible organisms including fungi.
• Discontinue and seek medical attention if redness
• pain
• or visual changes occur.
• Use with caution in patients with known aminoglycoside hypersensitivity.
• Keep out of reach of children.
