Glopril 5 5mg

Indication

An ACE inhibitor used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure), heart failure, and to improve survival after myocardial infarction. Also used to protect the kidneys in patients with diabetes.

Ingredients

• Lisinopril

Direction

Adults: initially 5–10 mg once daily for hypertension. Dose may be increased as directed by a physician. Take with or without food.

Side effects

• Dry persistent cough (most common).
• Dizziness
• hypotension.
• Hyperkalaemia.
• Renal impairment.
• Angioedema (rare but potentially life
• threatening).
• Nausea.

Precautions

• Contraindicated in patients with a history of ACE inhibitor
• induced angioedema.
• Contraindicated during pregnancy (can cause fetal harm).
• Monitor renal function
• blood pressure
• and electrolytes.
• Risk of hyperkalaemia
• avoid potassium supplements or potassium
• sparing diuretics without medical supervision.
• May cause dry persistent cough.
• Use with caution in patients with renal artery stenosis.
