Indication
A mucolytic agent used to reduce viscosity of thick mucus secretions in the respiratory tract, facilitating expectoration in bronchitis and other respiratory conditions in children.
Ingredients
- Carbocysteine
Direction
Children: dose as directed by a physician based on age and weight. Typically given as a syrup. Take with food.
Side effects
- Gastrointestinal disturbances (nausea
- gastric discomfort).
- Rash (rare).
Precautions
- Contraindicated in children with active peptic ulcer disease.
- Use with caution in children with a history of peptic ulcer.
