Indication

Septyl (Chlorhexidine digluconate solution) is an antiseptic used for skin disinfection before surgical procedures, wound cleansing, and oral antisepsis. It is effective against a broad spectrum of bacteria, yeasts, and some viruses.

Direction

For wound cleansing: Apply solution to affected area using a clean cloth or cotton. For pre-surgical skin disinfection: use diluted solution as directed. Concentration and dilution depend on intended use; follow product label instructions or healthcare provider's directions.

Side effects

• Skin irritation or contact dermatitis.
• Staining of teeth and tongue with prolonged oral use.
• Rare: serious allergic reactions including anaphylaxis.

Precautions

• For external use only.
• Avoid contact with eyes
• ears
• and brain tissue.
• Do not use in the ear canal.
• Avoid contact with mucous membranes unless specifically formulated for such use.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Rinse thoroughly if contact with eyes occurs.
