Indication

Levocetirizine dihydrochloride 10 mg is a third-generation antihistamine used for the relief of symptoms of allergic rhinitis (seasonal and perennial) and chronic idiopathic urticaria in adults.

Direction

Adults and adolescents 12 years and over: 10 mg once daily in the evening. Note: the standard approved dose of levocetirizine is 5 mg/day — this 10 mg formulation should be used only as directed by a physician.

Side effects

• Somnolence (drowsiness).
• Headache.
• Dry mouth.
• Fatigue.
• Nausea.
• Dizziness.

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with renal impairment
• dose reduction required.
• Avoid alcohol and other CNS depressants.
• May cause drowsiness
• exercise caution when driving or operating machinery.
• Not recommended in end
• stage renal disease or patients on hemodialysis.
• Keep out of reach of children.
