Indication
Cefaclor is a second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat respiratory tract infections (including otitis media, pharyngitis, sinusitis), urinary tract infections, and skin and soft tissue infections caused by susceptible organisms.
Ingredients

Direction
Children: Standard dose 20–40 mg/kg/day divided every 8–12 hours. For the 125 mg/5 mL suspension, measure dose carefully using the provided measure. Reconstitute as per instructions, shake well before each use.
Side effects
- Diarrhea
- nausea
- vomiting.
- Skin rash
- urticaria.
- Serum sickness
- like reactions.
- Elevated liver enzymes.
- Eosinophilia.
- Rarely: pseudomembranous colitis.
Precautions
- Do not use in patients with hypersensitivity to cephalosporins.
- Use with caution in patients with penicillin allergy.
- Reduce dose in severe renal impairment.
- Prolonged use may cause superinfection.
- May cause false
- positive Coombs test.
- Serum sickness
- like reactions have been reported (arthralgia
- skin rash
- fever).
