Indication

Tramadol hydrochloride injection is a centrally acting opioid analgesic used for the treatment of moderate to severe pain where oral administration is not feasible, including post-operative pain, trauma pain, and pain in oncology.

Ingredients

Direction

Adults: 50–100 mg by intramuscular, intravenous (slow), or subcutaneous injection every 4–6 hours as needed. Maximum 400 mg/day. Administer under medical supervision only.

Precautions

• Controlled substance — use only under medical prescription and supervision.
• Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to tramadol or opioids.
• Contraindicated with MAO inhibitors (within 14 days).
• Risk of seizures

• Avoid in severe hepatic or renal impairment.
• Not recommended in children under 12 years.
• Avoid with alcohol and other CNS depressants.
• Risk of dependence with prolonged use.
