Indication
Pediaprofen (Ibuprofen 50 mg/1.25 mL oral drops) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used in infants and young children to relieve mild to moderate pain and to reduce fever.
Ingredients

Direction
Infants and children: Dose is based on body weight — typically 5–10 mg/kg every 6–8 hours as needed. Do not exceed 40 mg/kg/day. Administer with or after food to reduce gastric irritation. Use the provided dropper/syringe for accurate dosing. Do not give to infants under 3 months unless directed by a physician.
Side effects
- Nausea
- vomiting
- abdominal pain
- diarrhea
- Gastric irritation or ulceration (with prolonged use)
- Headache
- dizziness
- Skin rash
- Elevated liver enzymes (rare)
Precautions
- Do not use in infants under 3 months of age or weighing less than 5 kg without medical advice.
- Do not use if allergic to ibuprofen
- aspirin
- or other NSAIDs.
- Contraindicated in patients with active peptic ulcer
- gastrointestinal bleeding
- or severe renal
- hepatic
- or cardiac impairment.
- Use with caution in asthmatic patients (may precipitate bronchospasm).
- Do not use concomitantly with other NSAIDs or aspirin.
- Avoid in dehydrated patients.
- Consult a physician if fever persists more than 3 days or pain more than 5 days.
- Keep out of reach of children.
