Indication
Medeso (Desogestrel 0.15 mg + Ethinyl Estradiol 0.03 mg) is a combined oral contraceptive used to prevent pregnancy. It works by suppressing ovulation, altering cervical mucus to inhibit sperm penetration, and modifying the endometrial lining to prevent implantation.
Ingredients

Direction
Adults: Take 1 tablet daily for 21 consecutive days, followed by a 7-day tablet-free interval (or as per the package insert cycle). Start on the first day of menstruation or as directed by a physician. Take at the same time each day.
Side effects
- Nausea
- vomiting
- headache
- Breast tenderness
- Irregular menstrual bleeding or spotting
- Mood changes
- decreased libido
- Weight gain
- Venous thromboembolism (rare but serious)
- Hypertension
Precautions
- Contraindicated in women with a history of or current thromboembolism (DVT
- pulmonary embolism
- stroke
- heart attack).
- Contraindicated in women over 35 years who smoke.
- Contraindicated in hormone
- sensitive cancers (breast
- uterine) or undiagnosed vaginal bleeding.
- Contraindicated in severe hepatic disease.
- Increases risk of arterial and venous thrombosis.
- May increase blood pressure
- monitor regularly.
- Effectiveness may be reduced by enzyme
- inducing drugs (e.g.
- rifampicin
- anticonvulsants).
- May interact with some antibiotics.
- Does not protect against sexually transmitted infections.
- Keep out of reach of children.
