Indication

Ketoconazole 2% shampoo/topical product is an antifungal agent used for the treatment of dandruff, seborrhoeic dermatitis, and superficial fungal skin infections including tinea versicolor and tinea capitis.

Ingredients

Direction

Shampoo: Apply to wet hair/scalp and leave for 3–5 minutes before rinsing. Use twice weekly for 2–4 weeks for dandruff/seborrhoeic dermatitis, then once weekly as maintenance. Topical cream: Apply once or twice daily to affected area.

Side effects

• Skin irritation

• or contact dermatitis.
• Hair texture changes (rare
• with shampoo use).
• Rare: allergic reactions.

Precautions

• For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes.
• Do not use if hypersensitive to ketoconazole or other azole antifungals.
• Discontinue if irritation or sensitisation develops.
• Keep out of reach of children.
