Indication

Tusin is a combination cough syrup containing an expectorant (guaifenesin) and antitussive (dextromethorphan) used for the relief of productive and non-productive coughs associated with upper respiratory tract infections, bronchitis, and colds.

Ingredients

• Guaifenesin 100 mg
• Dextromethorphan HBr 10 mg

Direction

Adults: 10 mL every 4–6 hours, not exceeding 40 mL in 24 hours. Children 6–12 years: 5 mL every 4–6 hours. Children 2–6 years: 2.5 mL every 4–6 hours. Follow product insert or physician's guidance.

• Gastrointestinal discomfort.
• Rare: allergic reactions.

Precautions

• Do not use with or within 14 days of MAO inhibitors.
• Avoid in patients with known hypersensitivity to dextromethorphan or guaifenesin.
• Dextromethorphan may cause sedation
• avoid driving or operating machinery.
• Avoid alcohol and other CNS depressants.
• Not for persistent or chronic cough (e.g.
• asthma
• smoker's cough
• emphysema) without medical advice.
• Keep out of reach of children.
