Promag 200 mg / 150 mg / 50 mg per 7 mL

Indication

Promag is an antacid suspension containing Hydrotalcite, Magnesium Hydroxide, and Simethicone. It is used for the relief of symptoms associated with hyperacidity such as heartburn, acid indigestion, gastric pain, flatulence, and bloating.

Ingredients

• Hydrotalcite
• Magnesium Hydroxide
• Simethicone

Direction

Adults: 7 mL (one sachet or measuring cup) 3–4 times daily, 1–2 hours after meals and at bedtime, or as directed by a physician. Shake well before use (if suspension). Chew tablets thoroughly if tablet form.

Side effects

• Common: diarrhoea (from magnesium component)
• constipation.
• Rare: nausea
• flatulence.

Precautions

• Do not use in patients with severe renal impairment.
• Magnesium
• containing antacids may cause diarrhoea.
• Avoid long
• term use without medical supervision.
• May reduce absorption of other medicines
• separate dosing by at least 2 hours.
• Keep out of reach of children.
