NSS Isotonic Sodium Chloride 0.9% 100ml

Indication

NSS Isotonic Sodium Chloride 0.9% solution is used for wound irrigation, nasal saline irrigation, eye washing, and as a vehicle for drug dilution or IV fluid replacement to maintain fluid and electrolyte balance.

Direction

For external use (wound/eye wash): apply as needed to irrigate the affected area. For nasal use: instil a few drops or spray into each nostril as needed. For IV use: administer under medical supervision at rate and volume as prescribed.

Side effects

• Generally well tolerated.
• Excessive IV administration may cause hypernatraemia
• fluid overload
• or electrolyte disturbances.

Precautions

• For IV use

• Use with caution in patients with heart failure
• renal impairment
• or oedema.
• Do not use if solution is cloudy or container is damaged.
