Salbutamol Syrup 2.41mg/5ml

Indication

Salbutamol Syrup (2.41 mg/5 mL) is a short-acting beta-2 adrenergic agonist bronchodilator used for the relief and prevention of bronchospasm in conditions such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and other reversible obstructive airway diseases.

Ingredients

• Salbutamol Sulfate

Direction

Adults: 5–10 mL (2.41–4.82 mg) three to four times daily. Children 2–6 years: 2.5 mL (1.2 mg) three to four times daily. Children 6–12 years: 5 mL (2.41 mg) three to four times daily. Take with or without food.

Side effects

• Common: tremor
• palpitations
• headache
• tachycardia.
• Uncommon: muscle cramps
• dizziness.
• Rare: hypokalaemia
• hypersensitivity reactions.

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disease
• hypertension
• or diabetes.
• May cause hypokalaemia with high doses
• monitor potassium levels in severe asthma.
• Avoid excessive or prolonged use without medical supervision.
• Not a substitute for inhaled therapy in severe asthma.
• Keep out of reach of children.
