Indication

Spasfon (Phloroglucinol + Trimethylphloroglucinol) is an antispasmodic used to relieve smooth muscle spasms associated with gastrointestinal, urinary, and gynaecological conditions including irritable bowel syndrome, biliary colic, urinary tract spasms, and dysmenorrhoea.

Ingredients

• Phloroglucinol
• Trimethylphloroglucinol

Direction

Adults: 2 tablets (80 mg) up to 3 times daily, or as a single dose for acute episodes. Can be taken with or without food. For IV/IM form: one ampoule as prescribed. Follow prescriber instructions.

Side effects

• Generally well tolerated.
• Rare: allergic or hypersensitivity reactions.

Precautions

• Do not use in patients with known hypersensitivity to phloroglucinol.
• Not intended as primary treatment for acute surgical emergencies.
• Use with caution in pregnancy — consult a physician.
• Keep out of reach of children.
