Indication
Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcer disease, and related dyspeptic symptoms. Rabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that reduces gastric acid secretion; levosulpiride is a prokinetic and antiemetic agent that improves gastric motility.
Ingredients
- Rabeprazole Sodium
- Levosulpiride
Direction
Adults: One tablet (Rabeprazole 20 mg + Levosulpiride 75 mg) once daily, preferably 30 minutes before the morning meal or as directed by the physician.
Side effects
- Headache
- Diarrhoea
- Nausea
- Abdominal pain
- Flatulence
- Dizziness
- Extrapyramidal symptoms (tremor
- muscle stiffness) — levosulpiride related
- Hyperprolactinaemia (galactorrhoea
- menstrual disturbances)
Precautions
- Contraindicated in patients with prolactin
- dependent tumours.
- Levosulpiride may cause tardive dyskinesia or extrapyramidal effects with prolonged use.
- Avoid in patients with gastrointestinal obstruction
- perforation
- or haemorrhage.
- Use with caution in patients with severe renal or hepatic impairment.
- Rabeprazole may reduce absorption of drugs that require an acidic environment (e.g.
- ketoconazole
- iron salts
- atazanavir).
- Long
- term PPI use may be associated with hypomagnesaemia and increased risk of bone fractures.
- Keep out of reach of children.
