Indication

RAHAT is a combination cough and cold preparation used to relieve symptoms of upper respiratory tract infections including non-productive dry cough (dextromethorphan), excessive mucus and productive cough (guaifenesin + bromhexine), nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing, and watery eyes (chlorpheniramine).

Ingredients

• Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide
• Guaifenesin
• Bromhexine Hydrochloride
• Chlorpheniramine Maleate

Direction

Adults and children over 12 years: Take as directed on labelling (typically 1 tablet or specified dose every 6–8 hours). Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Take with or after food to reduce stomach upset.

• Thickening of bronchial secretions (antihistamine effect)
• Difficulty urinating (in susceptible patients)

Precautions

• Do not use with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or within 14 days of stopping MAOIs.
• Avoid use in patients with severe liver or kidney disease.
• Chlorpheniramine may cause drowsiness

• Do not use in children under 2 years without medical advice.
• Avoid alcohol during treatment.
• Use with caution in patients with asthma
