Indication
Used to relieve mild to moderate pain such as headache, toothache, ear pain, sore throat, period pain, and muscular aches. Also used to reduce fever in adults and children.
Ingredients
- Paracetamol
Direction
Adults and children 12 years and over: 300–600 mg every 4–6 hours as needed; maximum 4 g (4000 mg) per day. Children under 12: dose adjusted by weight — consult a doctor or pharmacist.
Side effects
- Rare at normal doses: skin rash or allergic reaction.
- Hepatotoxicity (liver damage) with overdose or chronic excessive use.
- Very rarely: serious skin reactions (Stevens
- Johnson syndrome
- toxic epidermal necrolysis).
- Renal impairment with prolonged high
- dose use.
Precautions
- Do not exceed the recommended dose.
- Do not use with other paracetamol
- containing products.
- Avoid in patients with severe hepatic impairment or active liver disease.
- Use with caution in patients with renal impairment.
- Consult a doctor if symptoms persist beyond 3 days (fever) or 5 days (pain).
- Avoid alcohol during treatment.
- Keep out of reach of children.
