Telad 40 mg

Indication

Telad 40 (Telmisartan 40 mg) is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist (ARB) indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension (high blood pressure) in adults. It may also be used for cardiovascular risk reduction in adults at high risk of cardiovascular events who are unable to take ACE inhibitors.

• Telmisartan 40 mg

Direction

For oral use. The usual starting dose is 40 mg once daily. Dose may be adjusted up to 80 mg once daily based on blood pressure response. Take with or without food. Swallow tablet whole with water.

Side effects

• Dizziness
• Headache
• Upper respiratory tract infection
• Back pain
• Elevated blood potassium levels
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist if any adverse effect occurs

Precautions

• Do not use during pregnancy — telmisartan can cause fetal harm
• Use with caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment
• Monitor blood pressure and renal function regularly
• Avoid concomitant use with other renin
• angiotensin system blockers
• Keep out of reach of children
