Indication
- Hypertension - Chronic stable angina pectoris - Vasospastic (Prinzmetal's) angina
Ingredients
- Amlodipine 5 mg
Direction
Adults: usually 5 mg once daily, increased to a maximum of 10 mg once daily as needed. Take at the same time each day with or without food.
Side effects
- Peripheral oedema (ankle swelling)
- Headache
- Flushing
- Dizziness
- Palpitations and fatigue
Precautions
- Use with caution in severe hepatic impairment
- start at a lower dose
- Caution in severe aortic stenosis and in heart failure
- May cause symptomatic hypotension
- especially with other antihypertensives
- Monitor for worsening angina or myocardial infarction on dose initiation or increase
