Tetracycline Ephac 500 mg

Indication

Tetracycline-class antibiotic for treatment of brucellosis, pasteurellosis, pulmonary and genitourinary infections due to mycoplasma or chlamydia, ophthalmic chlamydial infections, ENT infections, treponematoses, cholera, and acne.

Ingredients

• Tetracycline (as hydrochloride) 500 mg

Direction

Adults: 1.5 to 2 g per day, taken outside meals in 2 to 4 regularly spaced doses. Children over 8 years: 50 mg/kg/day. Follow the prescribed doses.

Side effects

• Gastrointestinal upset (nausea
• vomiting
• diarrhoea)
• Photosensitivity
• Tooth discoloration in children under 8 years and during pregnancy

Precautions

• Contraindicated: hypersensitivity to tetracycline
• children under 8 years
• pregnancy and breastfeeding
• Keep out of reach of children
• Store below 30°C
• protect from light and humidity
