Indication

- Excessive daytime sleepiness due to narcolepsy - Excessive sleepiness in obstructive sleep apnoea - Excessive sleepiness in shift-work sleep disorder

Ingredients

• Modafinil 100 mg

Direction

Take by mouth, usually 200 mg once daily in the morning or in divided doses, as directed by the prescriber. Elderly patients may start at 100 mg daily.

Side effects

• Headache
• Nausea
• Nervousness and anxiety
• Insomnia
• Dizziness

Precautions

• May reduce effectiveness of hormonal contraceptives
• Risk of serious skin reactions
• stop if rash develops
• Use caution in patients with heart problems or history of psychiatric illness
• Potential for dependence and misuse
