Indication
- Vitamin K deficiency - Blood clotting disorders - Hypoprothrombinemia - Hemorrhagic disease prevention
Ingredients
- Menadione (Vitamin K3) or Menaquinone (Vitamin K2)
Direction
Take orally or as directed by a healthcare provider. Dosage depends on the specific deficiency being treated and the formulation strength.
Side effects
- Nausea
- Hemolytic anemia (at high doses)
- Flushing
- Hyperbilirubinemia in infants
Precautions
- Not recommended for patients with G6PD deficiency
- Use with caution in severe liver impairment
- Not a replacement for Vitamin K1 in newborns
- Monitor blood clotting times (PT/INR)
