Indication

Treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis and to increase bone mass in patients at risk of osteoporotic fractures.

Ingredients

• Alendronate sodium

Direction

Take one 70 mg tablet once weekly on an empty stomach with a full glass of plain water, at least 30 minutes before the first food, drink, or other medication of the day. Remain upright after taking. Use as directed by a physician.

Side effects

• May cause stomach pain
• heartburn
• nausea
• constipation or diarrhea
• and muscle or joint pain.
• Rarely
• serious esophageal irritation or jaw bone problems may occur.
• Stop use and consult a doctor or pharmacist if severe chest pain
• difficulty swallowing
• or allergic reactions occur.

Precautions

• Use only under medical supervision
• not suitable for patients with severe kidney impairment or low blood calcium.
• Do not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking the tablet to avoid esophageal irritation.
• Inform your doctor of any swallowing difficulties
• stomach problems
• or planned dental procedures before use.
