Indication
Combipack of Desogestrel and Ethinylestradiol tablets with inert tablets. Oral contraceptive pill for prevention of pregnancy in women. Third generation low-dose combined hormonal contraceptive.
Ingredients
- Desogestrel
- Ethinylestradiol
Direction
Take one tablet daily at approximately the same time each day, starting with the first tablet marked on the blister. Continue for 28 days (21 active hormonal tablets followed by 7 inert tablets), then start a new pack the day after the last tablet. Read carefully the package insert before use.
Side effects
- Common: nausea
- breast tenderness
- headache
- mood changes
- breakthrough bleeding
- weight changes.
- Serious but uncommon: venous thromboembolism
- arterial thromboembolism
- hypertension
- severe allergic reaction.
- Stop use and consult a doctor or pharmacist if any serious adverse reaction or allergic symptom occurs.
Precautions
- Use only under guidance of a doctor or pharmacist.
- Not suitable for women with a history of blood clots
- certain cancers
- severe liver disease
- or unexplained vaginal bleeding.
- Increased risk of venous and arterial thromboembolic events
- especially in smokers over age 35.
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use
- particularly during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- Stop use and consult a doctor immediately if you experience chest pain
- shortness of breath
- severe headache
- vision changes
- leg pain or swelling
- or signs of allergic reaction.
