Indication
Third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic for oral suspension; indicated for the treatment of susceptible bacterial infections including upper and lower respiratory tract, urinary tract, and ear infections.
Ingredients
- Cefixime (as trihydrate) eq. to Cefixime 100 mg per 3 g sachet
Direction
As directed by the physician. Dissolve the contents of 1 sachet in a glass of hot boiled water (sugar can be added if desired). Repeated dose can be taken every 4 hours (no more than 3 doses within 24 hours).
Side effects
- Diarrhoea
- loose stools
- abdominal pain
- nausea.
- Headache
- dizziness.
- Skin rash
- pruritus.
- Allergic reactions
- stop use and consult a doctor or pharmacist if a reaction occurs.
Precautions
- Prescription drug
- use only under medical supervision.
- Do not use in patients with known hypersensitivity to cephalosporins or penicillins.
- Use with caution in patients with renal impairment.
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use
- especially during pregnancy or breastfeeding
- and stop if irritation or allergy occurs.
