Indication

Combined hormonal contraceptive for transdermal administration to prevent pregnancy in women. Each transdermal patch delivers approximately 150 micrograms norelgestromin and 20 micrograms ethinyl estradiol per day into the bloodstream.

Direction

Apply one patch once weekly for three consecutive weeks (21 days), followed by one patch-free week. Apply to clean, dry, intact, healthy skin on the buttock, abdomen, upper outer arm or upper torso, in a place where it will not be rubbed by tight clothing. Side effects
  • Common: application site reaction
  • headache
  • breast symptoms
  • nausea
  • menstrual cramps
  • mood changes.
  • Serious but uncommon: venous thromboembolism
  • arterial thromboembolism
  • severe allergic reaction.
  • Stop use and consult a healthcare professional immediately if irritation
  • allergy or any serious adverse reaction occurs.
Precautions
  • Use only as directed by a healthcare professional.
  • Not suitable for women with a history of blood clots
  • certain cancers
  • severe liver disease
  • or unexplained vaginal bleeding.
  • Increased risk of venous and arterial thromboembolic events
  • especially in smokers over age 35.
  • Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use
  • particularly during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
  • Stop use and consult a doctor immediately if you experience chest pain
  • shortness of breath
  • severe headache
  • vision changes
  • leg pain or swelling
  • or signs of allergic reaction.
