Indication

Adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycaemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus when treatment with both empagliflozin and metformin is appropriate.

Ingredients

• Empagliflozin 5 mg
• Metformin Hydrochloride 500 mg

Direction

Take orally as directed by the physician. Refer to the package insert for full prescribing information.

Side effects

• May cause genital or urinary tract infections
• dehydration
• hypoglycaemia (when used with sulfonylureas or insulin)
• gastrointestinal upset
• or metallic taste.
• Stop use and consult a doctor or pharmacist if severe muscle pain
• difficulty breathing
• ketoacidosis symptoms
• or allergic reaction occurs.

Precautions

• Prescription
• only medicine.
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use in renal impairment
• dehydration
• recurrent urinary or genital infections
• or before surgery.
• Monitor for ketoacidosis even with normal blood glucose levels.
• Stop use and seek medical advice if irritation
