Indication
- Short-term treatment of constipation - Bowel clearance before surgery - Colonoscopy preparation - Radiologic examination preparation
Ingredients
- Bisacodyl
Direction
Take tablets orally, usually at bedtime for a bowel movement the next morning. Do not crush or chew tablets and do not take within one hour of antacids or dairy products.
Side effects
- Abdominal cramps
- Nausea
- Diarrhea
- Rectal burning (with suppositories)
- Vertigo or fainting
Precautions
- Avoid long
- term use (laxative dependence)
- Contraindicated in intestinal obstruction
- Do not use with severe abdominal pain
- Monitor for electrolyte imbalance
- Risk of dehydration with overuse
