Colodium 2 mg

Indication

Symptomatic treatment of acute and chronic non-specific diarrhea, and for the reduction of stool volume in patients with an ileostomy.

Ingredients

• Loperamide Hydrochloride USP 2 mg

Direction

For oral use. Refer to package insert for dosage and other information. As directed by the physician.

Side effects

• Constipation
• abdominal cramps
• nausea
• dry mouth
• dizziness or skin rash may occur.
• Rare but serious effects include paralytic ileus
• severe abdominal distension and allergic reactions.
• Stop use and consult a doctor or pharmacist immediately if severe abdominal pain
• constipation or signs of allergic reaction occur.

Precautions

• Not recommended for children under 6 years of age.
• Do not use if there is blood in the stool or in the presence of high fever
• consult a doctor.
• Stop use and consult a doctor or pharmacist if diarrhea persists for more than 48 hours
• or if abdominal pain
• distension or constipation occurs.
• Drink plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration during diarrhea.
• Not recommended in pregnancy or breastfeeding unless directed by a doctor.
• Use with caution in patients with liver impairment.
